script.Destroy() - a Digital Geographies Post-Conference

Presented by the Towsend Center for the Humanities, the UC Berkeley Department of Geography, and Berkeley Center for New Media (BCNM)

organized by Emma Fraser, Assistant Professor, UC Berkeley, Geography; Theresa Hice-Fromille, Asssistant Professor, Ohio State, Geography; Genevieve Reid, Assistant Professor, Florida International University, Geography; and Clancy Wilmott, Assistant Professor, UC Berkeley, Geography

script.Destroy() is a two-day conversation on the general theme of digital geographies - both the current state of the (sub)discipline and plans for the future, as well as conversations on wider digital and tech industry concerns. The conference will be held at UC Berkeley on Sunday, March 22 and Monday, March 23.

This two-day conference takes advantage of the annual American Association of Geographers conference taking place in San Francisco, March 17 to 21. The post-conference is open to all, and will bring together junior and senior scholars for an open conversation around what it means to consider the human and cultural in relation to the digital, and shape core humanistic questions in the growing sub-discipline of digital geographies. We particularly encourage graduate students and ECRs working on question of the digital - culture, society, ethics, futures, communities, methods, tools, technologies, etc. - to join us for what will hope will be an open and generative set of discussions. We will also provide space to discuss mentorship, and future event opportunities. Participants must register, and we have limited places available. For more information on conference themes, program, and to register, see here.
